Description

Courses are delivered via face to face in a classroom setting or workplace setting VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD, SA, NT, WA & TAS.

This (8) eight-hour face to face and 4 hours (Online) course incorporates both Food Safety and Food safety Supervisor the knowledge requirements to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food. It requires the ability to follow predetermined procedures as outlined in a venue’s food safety program, which is based around the key HACCP principles.

The course applies to all organisations deemed to require a food safety program as determined by local governments. This includes restaurants, cafes, clubs, and hotels; tour operators; attractions; function, event, exhibition and conference catering; educational institutions; aged care facilities; correctional centers; hospitals; defense forces; cafeterias, kiosks, canteens and fast-food outlets; residential catering; in-flight and other transport catering.

It applies to all food handlers including cooks, chefs, head chefs, caterers, kitchen hands and food and beverage attendants / supervisors, managers, owners and key stakeholders.

The food safety supervisor course covers the following criteria:

  • Follow food safety program.
  • Store food safely.
  • Prepare food safely.
  • Provide safe single use items.
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Dispose of food safely.

IMPORTANT FOR NSW STUDENTS: In order to operate as a Food Safety Supervisor within New South Wales you require a certificate from the NSW Food Authority. A NSW Food Authority certificate is required and must be added at the checkout if you intend to work in NSW, at an additional total cost of $35 ($30 is the price the government charges to provide the certificate + $5 for printing and postage costs). 

An additional one day of online delivery is required for NSW Food safety supervisors certificate 

Students in other states/territories (VIC, QLD, SA, TAS, WA, NT, ACT) do not require any additional certificates as the Statement of Attainment gained in this course is all that is required to operate as a Food Safety Supervisor in these locations.
