Overview
The SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail entry-level qualification is designed to give you the core foundation skills and practical knowledge you need to succeed in the retail industry. The qualification will allow an individual to supervise other team members and monitor day-to-day workplace operations.Â

Traineeship: Estimated duration 52 Weeks
Study Mode and Assessment Methods
Work Based: Salford college will deliver training and assessment using facilities at a student’s workplace, in a classroom environment face to face or virtually using Microsoft Teams Environment.
During this course, you will undertake a wide range of assessment activities including:
- Project /Assignment
- Verbal / written assessment tasks
- Scenarios/Case studies
- Workplace case studies
- Roleplay and observations
Description
The industry recognises this course as providing skills and knowledge to perform various retail operations tasks, such as cash handling, sales and service, merchandising, stock control and workplace safety duties and delivering on organisational expectations.
The qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings, including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick-service restaurants.
This training is funded through the Government of South Australia and delivered by Salford College (RTO Code: 40298)
Successful completion leads to a Statement of Attainment for nationally accredited units listed on training.gov.au.

- A Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment is conducted on all entrants prior to enrolment into the program to ensure that Salford College can support each student throughout the program.
Pathways
After achieving SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail, individuals could progress to SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management, or to Certificate IV qualifications in other service industry fields.

To achieve the qualification a total of thirteen (13) units of competency must be completed, including eight (8) core units and five (5) elective units.Â
Elective units are decided upon consultation with the Employer.
