Description
1) What is this course?
The CPC20120 Certificate II in Construction is a nationally recognised entry-level qualification that prepares you for real construction worksites through blended training.
2) Who can apply?
Applicants must complete a course entry interview, demonstrate ACSF Level 2 language, literacy, and numeracy, and be able to use digital technologies.
3) What will I learn?
15 units (10 core + 5 electives) covering WHS, plans & specs, tools & equipment, working at heights, scaffolding, concreting, demolition, and more.
4) Do I need my own tools or equipment?
Yes — bring your own tool kit, PPE, and BYOD device.
5) What jobs can I get after this?
Roles such as Builder’s Labourer or Construction Support Worker, with clear pathways to trade apprenticeships (Carpentry , etc.).
6) Is it funded in South Australia?

Over 15 units of competency (10 core + 5 electives), you’ll develop skills in:

8) Can I get credit for prior study or experience?

Entry Requirements
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Students must bring a laptop or tablet to all classes for learning and assessment activities.

- Steel rule
- Spirit level (600mm)
- Chalk line or marker
- Set square / try square
- Claw hammer
- Screwdrivers (Phillips & flathead)
- Rubber mallet
- Tool belt
Mandatory PPE:
- Steel cap boots
- High-visibility shirt or vest
- Long pants
- Safety glasses/goggles
- Safety gloves
- Hearing protection (earmuffs or plugs)
- Hard hat
- Dust mask or respirator
- Knee pads/kneeling pad

Successful completion leads to a Statement of Attainment for nationally accredited units listed on training.gov.au.
